Second Opinion = Surgery

So we went to see another orthopedic surgeon for a second opinion concerning this ATTT surgery and his verdict was that he agreed with the surgery.  I didn't really care for this doctor, he was older and mentioned that before the ponseti method he would do this surgery all the time and he didn't think that more casting would even work.  He didn't seem to agree much with the ponseti method.  He didn't have very many answers to all our questions but said that at least for Fionn's right foot, something needed to be done.

One thing he mentioned(which I already suspected and knew) was that our regular surgeon is an advocate for the Ponseti method of casting and would not suggest this surgery unless he was sure that casting would not work in this case.  So for now we wait.  His surgery is expected to happen in march or april of 2012.  I'm not sure how I feel about all this.  But if it really is for the best then we will prepare ourselves and deal with it.
